Why learn to communicate visually?

Visual communication enables us to transcend discipline, ability, language and culture, to connect with diverse audiences and make real change happen.

But, it’s a skill rarely taught in universities or organisations.

This is why we have three flagship training programmes to help you tell your story visually so audiences get, do or fund your ideas.

How they work

Each course covers the theory behind the method, practical how tos on how to create visuals, drawings or stories, and hands on activities for learners to test their skills.

We also have a Nifty guarantee that NO ONE WILL SUFFER FROM DEATH BY POWERPOINT OR BOREDOM IN OUR SESSIONS! We live draw all of our slides, facilitate active audience engagement, and have been known to share pictures of our canine colleagues too.

We deliver these courses in three different ways to suit your learners:

  1. Self paced e-learning with follow up Q&A with Director Laura.

  2. Live online delivery.

  3. In person half or full day sessions.

All students get access to our Nifty Resource Portal with over 100 free resources, templates and further free training to support their visual adventure. They also have the option to join our online community - the Nifty Academy - for a small additional fee to connect with other researchers on their learning journey. This includes access to additional learning, free monthly Q&As led by Nifty, and a quarterly skills slam session.

We offer institutional block bookings - contact us for more.

Student Experience

We’ve taught over 2000 budding visual communicators across the world to unleash their impact visually, including Pakistani policy makers, Ministry of Justice researchers and PhD students.

Course participants regularly go on to win poster competitions and awards with their newfound skills, including Tim Woodhouse from Kent County Council.
