Exploring South Asian Women's Body Image

The Hero

Dr Ankita Mishra, The University of Sheffield

The Challenge

Ankita had just finished her research on South Asian women’s body image in a UK context. With such important findings, she couldn’t let this research languish in the pages of report that might not be read. She contacted Nifty to help her bring her research message to life through the power of animation.

The Solution

We worked with Ankita to write a short, snappy script that captured the research findings in an accessible way, whilst also prioritising the voices of the participants involved. We recorded the voiceover with Ankita herself to add even more authenticity to the end product. Our designer Chris worked closely with the research team to illustrate South Asian women accurately, and bring this story from paper to reality!

The Result

A 3 minute tour through Ankita’s research, which was featured in The University of Sheffield’s video showreel for the Festival of Social Science.

It’s great. I love the animation. Thank you for giving shape to the ‘thing’ in my head. Everyone in the process was very friendly, loved the communication, the transparency and the fact that feedback was incorporated so well in all the stages. Thank you very much. :)
