Improving the Measurement of Mobility in People with Long-Term Conditions

The Hero

Mobilise-D - a consortium of 300 of the world’s leading scientists, clinicians, companies, and 34 universities exploring mobility assessment and the use of body-worn sensors.

The Challenge

The research team had just finished a seminal piece of research reframing the definition of ‘walking’. Walking is not just a physical thing - it is also a social, emotional and economic experience. This definition has the potential to revolutionise the way clinicians measure mobility in patients with long term conditions.

Mobilise-D needed to make a splash with this ground-breaking news, so that policy makers and clinicians change mobility measurement nationwide. This is where Nifty comes in.

The Solution

We worked closely with the research team and patient and public contributors from around the world. We co-created a script, voiceovers and infographic content to distill research into digestible, relatable messages. We created an animation, print infographic and an interactive infographic with embedded audio stories from real patients.

The Result

The outputs are now being shared widely to promote a key part of this multi-million pound, institutional and international research project. Here’s what the team thought:

The animation is great! The finished product will be shared widely and across various different target audiences. The video highlights a seminal piece of work for our project, so it was important to get the message out there beyond scientific publications. The crew at Nifty Fox guided us at each step to consider what we needed, the key message we wanted to send, and how we would visually represent that.
